The Escondido River is connected as a tributary to the Mahogani River with its entire network of small tributaries coming mainly from the southwest but also the Caño Negro (from Mahogani) coming from the southeast. The most important water sources are found in Cerro Silva, in the north of the area the lower part of the Escondido River runs, presenting different types of wetlands.
